I would like to file a grade grievance.

The procedure for filing a grade grievance can be found on the Academic Programming Website. Click here. This document provides extensive detail regarding this procedure. Below is a brief version of the process

In general, you would need to:

1. Contact the course instructor within TEN working days after the start of the next semester to discuss the final grade.

2. If consensus on the grade is not achieved with the instructor, you may file a written grievance with the department head within TWENTY working days after the start of the next semester.

3. Within TEN days of receiving the written request, the department head will arrange a meeting with the Department Grade Grievance Committee. At that meeting you would provide evidence of grade concerns and the instructor would share his/her evidence.

4. After notification of the Department Grade Grievance Committee's decision, you or the instructor may appeal the decision in writing within TEN working days to the University Grade Grievance Committee. There are guidelines as to when the Provost's Office will allow this type of appeal. If you have met those guidelines, a hearing would be set within TWENTY days of receiving the written appeal request. This committee's decision is final.
