Thank you for agreeing to moderate an oral presentation session of the Graduate Research Fair. Please arrive early at the session. Stop by the Registration table to pick up a program and your name tag. You will receive a list of students whom you will introduce. You will also introduce the faculty sponsors if present. State the name of the department or school and title of presentation.
Please begin promptly (even if the audience is still coming into the room) and closely monitor the time. Each student has 15 minutes. Colored paper will be provided to use as a time flag – i.e., yellow for 2-minute warning and red for stop. There is a 5-minute break between presentations to either handle questions or adjust equipment for the next presenter (some presenters are using computers, overheads, slides, TV/VCR) or both. Each student will be wearing a name tag, so before the overall session begins, ask him/her about equipment needs.

If a student has cancelled or does not show up, please stick to the original time schedule. Other students or faculty may be arriving late to hear a presentation for a student who is third on the list (e.g., presenting at 2:40). We don’t want them to arrive having missed the presentation since fewer students showed up and the person they came to hear presented early. Start late, kill time, ask questions, give a break, or leave early if the absent student was the last one to present. Students should present at their appointed times.
Water will be provided in the room for you and the presenters. Let them know of its availability. In addition, refreshments will be provided near the registration table. There will be a luncheon and awards ceremony at 11:30 in the Ballroom. If you plan to stay for lunch, RSVP to 734 487-0042 no later than March 17, 2008. We Hope you can stay.
